First ever Animaniacs sketches (April 2013)

Description

These three separate drawings of the Warners were done at the beginning of last month and were my FIRST ever pieces of Animaniacs-related sketches, done shortly before I seriously got into the show big-time. When you compare these to some of my latest drawings, it'll immediately become obvious to you that I've improved drastically over the past 1 3/4 or so months I've been doing Animaniacs fanart. Some major differences include the fact that I wasn't giving them that very distinctive, edgy Tokyo Movie Shinsha-esque smile on their faces, as well as the overall look to Yakko's head (which I do feel kind of uncomfortable with, to be honest with you). You'll also notice that there is much, MUCH more pencil "ghosting" left behind from erased lines compared to some of my newer doodles. I drew these a few weeks before learning the magical art of pushing down softer on my pencil, which helps very much. ;)

Dot's obviously the one I drew first because she's my fave - there were some blemishes on her legs that were the result of trying to trace her on another sheet of paper with a Sharpie marker before realizing that it was too thick and that it would leave behind some marks on the original sketch. I was able to kind of manage to fix that in Photoshop. Apologies if my fixing attempt looks kind of half-assed, but it'll have to do. :D I drew Wakko two days later. For some reason, the way I drew him reminisces vaguely of the way he looks in the Animaniacs episodes that Wang Film Productions animated... but who am I to say. And although he's supposed to be a little taller than Dot, I drew him about the same height as her. :XD: But then again, it was my first time, so what do you expect? And Yakko's saying his signature catchphrase ("Goodnight everybody!" - you know he usually says it following SOME sort of sexual innuendo). FOR ONCE, I didn't suck at drawing hands, but maybe that's just because I was drawing his hands from a reference pic. LOL

Compare it to some of my newest Animaniacs fanart and see the major differences for yourself. I know you won't be sorry to see how much I've improved. :aww: Might be moving this to scraps - I just put it in my main gallery to ensure that all the fellow A! fans I've befriended in the past month see it.

UPDATE 06/03/13: Okay, I decided NOT to scrap this in the long run. I still think these drawings are very good for my first go at those cute little Warners. :aww:

Animaniacs is one of the few cartoon series that's definitely worth re-watching as an adult because of all the double entendres they used.  You just know that whenever Yakko says "Good night everybody!" that there's something there.
